Chocolate and Hollywood

Everybody needs to eat, and everybody loves a treat. What better than chocolate? Light, dark, rum-filled, on its own or mixed with nuts. Just thinking about it has my taste buds tickled with anticipation.
Chocolate has such mass appeal that Hollywood has more than once found success in producing a feature film about candy bars. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, produced by David Wolper in 1971 comes to mind as perhaps the best and most famous chocolate movie of all time.
Willy Wonka, played by Gene Wilder, is the reclusive oddball owner of the largest and best candy factory in the entire world. Five lucky children find golden tickets in their Wonka Candy bars which win them a behind-the-scenes tour of the fantastic Wonka Factory, which had been closed to the public for
years. The sights and sounds inside the factory will keep you drooling for the duration of the show, which is a great adventure for adults and children alike. Make sure you have some chocolate ready to munch on before you play
the DVD.
Besides sheer entertainment value, Willy Wonka is highly recommended for teaching kids the value of sharing and gift-giving in a fun and fabulous way that they wont soon forget. We all sometimes face those gift-giving situations where we want to buy something for someone as a thank you, a pick-me-up, or maybe just to remind the recipient that we're thinking about them and wanted to show our appreciation. Usually we don't want this type of gift to be to personal, and the worst would be if the recipient takes one look at your gift and tosses it in the trash in disgust. How rude, you think? Well maybe, but if you've worked in an office environment for more than a few years, you know exactly what I mean. How many paperweights, cheap
picture frames, monogrammed pens or mini-calendars does one actually need? Chocolate however, I can always use, and so can you. If you're on a diet, maybe just take a bite or two and share, then you're a gift giver too. Or take it home for a treat for the kids. You can always make someone smile with chocolate.
So next time youre thinking about what gift to give, remember Wonka and consider a chocolate gift basket. Gifts are given to make someone smile, and a yummy in your tummy is sure to do the trick.
